Birchbox

I confess that I get a little overwhelmed with all the beauty products out there, and I become a bit skeptical as to whether or not certain products work enough to put so much money into them.  Now, I can pay a little and try out a whole lot!  There is a site called Birchbox which has set it up so that you can pay 10 dollars a month and receive this cute little box with different samples.  It is like a little gift to yourself each month and you can try out all kinds of different beauty products!  I love it!

Wallpaper I Want...Badly

I was reading the post about bookshelf wallpaper in House Beautiful the other day and I was a bit disappointed in their selections...

But then we had this lovely engagement party for my friends and we had a progressive dinner which involved us riding our bikes from house to house.  All of my friends have gorgeous homes, but I was blown away by one of the hosts' bathroom wallpaper from Anthro .  This is way cooler than all of the others!

I needed this little tidbit of loveliness after finding out there is a little mouse running around my house!  Isn't it nice to see something that just speaks to everything you love aesthetically?  From the dress and jewels to the photography, I just want to eat this up!  Now I just need to find a party to attend where I can where something shiny and fabulous like this!

I am sure you all know about Emerson Made, but have you seen this girl's house?  I mean goodness!  Every piece makes sense and it makes me want to totally re-do some things around here!  I also love the jeans and coats Ms. Thing has on her website.  Did I mention I also want those green and wooden chairs?

The Atlantic to the Pacific

I often find myself struggling between different styles, and while I am usually drawn to the east coast, preppy, J. Crew look, I also love the laid back breezy look out west.  Blair Eadie gets it right.  She combines a whole lot of both worlds and is all about layering and combining unlikely patterns.  I just think she is fabulous!

Mad for Plaid?

It all started for me when I laid eyes on these plaid chairs...

They just do something for me and I have been trying to think about how I can incorporate plaid into my house without making it too "country."  Plaid can and has been done wrong so many times.  I have this guest bedroom that was inspire by the color of this room:

And it would really look great with a hint of plaid somewhere.
